One of the first essential gardening tools you'll definitely need is a spading fork. This tool is used to break up the hard, clumped-up ground, providing for a more suitable environment for the seeds to be nourished and grow in. You will also need a  hoe, this tool  helps weed and cultivate the surface of the soil and will enable water and nutrients to get through the soil by keeping it loose and airy.

Do not forget the watering can, which is another essential gardening tool that you will be needing, so be sure you have it. It is advisable that you get one with a long nozzle, which will enable you to control the flow and angle of the water with more ease. Make sure that the watering can has a detachable spray head to also water the various types of plants which have various water needs around your garden.

You will also need a shovel (to put the soil onto the wheelbarrow). It will make it a lot easier if you have a wheelbarrow, to move soil or dirt from one part of the garden to the next. A more similar version of the shovel would be the spade, which is used more for cutting than for digging up soil.

Another gardening tool you will need is a bow rake. This all-too familiar gardening tool has several short tines attached to one side, and is used to gather up fallen leaves and other objects you wouldn't want to find in your garden. It is also used to sift out large clumps of soil that may obstruct your planting area.

TODAY'S NEWS:

A very necessity is the gardening shears - this huge pair of scissors is not meant for the kitchen (like most of us thought), but rather, for pruning garden plants. If you find yourself in the beginning stages of gardening, don't buy the most expensive shears just yet. A temporary one will let you dull the blades out, and that's all you will lose if you decide you don't like gardening after all!

These are the basic essential gardening tools to start your own little paradise at home. Obviously as your expertise grow and you become a more experienced gardener, you will need a bigger variety of gardening tools. Happy gardening!
